CCA 5th Graders Visit JA BizTown

Imagine a city where young consumers rush to the bank to deposit their paychecks, sales clerks create merchandise displays and reporters interview local business leaders to get the most up-to-date story. Across the way the restaurant prepares for the lunch hour and the mayor meets with business managers to get an understanding of current economic trends. This could be any city in the country, but it is this image that perfectly describes a day at JA BizTown

Our 5th grade team brought over 100 students and 40 parent volunteers to BizTown for the day. Twenty lessons were taught in school for a month leading up to our visit. The students had the opportunity to learn about the economy in a fun, hands-on, and interactive way.

Khai is working at the Humane Society helping to find homes for some animals.

Brian is shopping at the Miami Dolphins store.

David is working hard as he enters ads into the computer for the local paper.

Channel 10 WPLG has cameras rolling as Amanda interviews her teacher for the news.
