Second Graders Prepare to Give

Mrs. Agarth's class will be presenting the Christmas Message this Sunday at the Refuge. The students packed "love bags" to give to the homeless. They created an assembly line and filled the bags with an apple, snack bar, deodorant, socks, a candycane, and a special Christmas message.

Gold Seal Quality of Care Awarded to CCA

CCA's pre-school program was again awarded the Department of Children and Families coveted Gold Seal Quality of Care award for the 2008-2009 school year. This Gold Seal is awarded to pre-school programs who have met certain criteria for excellence in early education or child care.
The DCF Child Care Program Office is responsible for approving accrediting agencies for participation in the Gold Seal Quality Care Program. These accrediting agencies must meet or exceed the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards, the standards of the National Association of Family Child Care, or the standards of the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation Commission. Our accrediting bodies (ACSI and SACS) meet or exceed those standards.
The Gold Seal Quality Care Program does not contain a set of independent standards. Rather, it is a level of care that exceeds the minimum child care licensing standards established by the Florida Statutes ( F.S. ) and the Florida Administrative Code ( F.A.C ) by meeting the higher standards of the approved accrediting agencies. Child care providers who are accredited by one or more of the approved agencies, are issued a Gold Seal certificate by the Child Care Program Office recognizing their achievement. We are blessed to have received this award from the state of Florida's Department of Children and Families.
For more information about the Gold Seal status of CCA, you may visit the DCF web site at www.myflorida.com/childcare and click on "Provider Search" to locate our program.
